~ Homegrown Suffolk Soul ~
Nick learnt to sing as a boy soprano but developed his passion for Rhythm and Blues during his apprenticeship. He was hooked! – with influences including Junior Wells, Eric Clapton, Freddie King and more! In 1971 he formed a band with Ian Terry – one of the original members of a Rock and Roll outfit ‘Matchbox’. Nick has played at various jazz clubs and events over the world, but it was in 1997 after moving to Suffolk that the Random Blues Company was born.
Emily joined the band in 2013. Her musical influences include Candy Dulfer, Eddie Harris and various soul legends. Previously, Emily has played a lot of solo performances as well as being part of a smaller band, but since being part of the Random Blues Company, she certainly lives by Auberch's famous quote that 'Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life'.
Kev has played with a fair few bands over the years, starting in 1978 with "Witchcraft" - a Punk-Rock band. He is also seen playing bass for a AC-DC tribute band, "Thunderstruck". Other than music, one of Kevs main passions is racing motorcycles. The main musical influences in Kev's life are Led Zeppelin, Heavy Rock and a touch of Classical.
Simon joined his first band, the “S-Men” in 1980, He then moved on to guitarist Geoff Slater’s rock band “The Almost Legendary Vanhoo Trucking Company”. Their rhythm guitarist back then, Myles Staitton went on to form “Ecstasy” with Simon in the late Eighties. Simon has also played with Laurie Johnson of “East Coast Blues Band” and worked with American singer/ songwriter Austin Brookes, drumming and creating the artwork for his album “Painting in Sound”.
